In today’s competitive and dynamic world, success of any business hinges to a large extent on the ability to nurture competencies and skills of the people thereby providing knowledge insurance to the customers. Knowledge Management (KM) at Praxis is oriented towards establishing systems, processes, and culture that help us continuously augment our intellectual capital to foster a path of growth and talent development.
The key facets of KM in Praxis are innovation, sharing/collaboration, and re-use. The goal is to achieve talent transformation for our people so that they can be groomed for the challenges ahead and the value provided to the stakeholders is enhanced.
Leveraging knowledge involves taking stock of existing knowledge, disseminating it across the organization and continuously upgrading it to keep pace with the requirements of a rapidly changing business environment. Mentoring plays a key part in this process of developing the skills and aligning specific targets with our overall strategic goals.
Some of the initiatives we have embarked on to facilitate knowledge creation and sharing are:
- Induction Training for new recruits
- Project-specific Training Programs meant for groups of Professionals by leading practitioners (in-house and/or external) to acquire specific skills like J2EE or .Net or Design Patterns or PL/SQL, through a blend of classroom training, hands-on exercises and mentoring
- Process Training on ISO-9001 and/or CMMi, tailored to the specific roles being / to be played by the employees
- Deputing of key professionals for Specialized Training in high-end technologies like Oracle 10g DBA, Enterprise Architecture, Oracle BI Technology Stack, ARTS-compliant Data Models, etc.
- Periodic Seminars and Best-practices Sessions, where ideas, insights, and hands-on experience of subject matter experts are interactively shared by other practitioners and also stored in a knowledge repository.
Being co-development and implementation partner of Oracle Corporation for Business Intelligence Accelerator (BIA) solutions, we regularly conduct training for various Oracle Partners across the globe. Some such programs on Oracle’s BI-DW Technology Stack and on Oracle’s Retail BIA have already been conducted, jointly with Oracle, in countries like Malaysia, Taiwan, India and UK for Oracle Partners in Asia-Pacific as well as for Oracle Sales Consultants in Europe. With BIA-based solutions poised to penetrate deeper into the markets like Retail and Telecom, we are envisaging more such focused programs to be conducted for corporate entities, primarily in APAC and EMEA geographies.
